Ghost Dance

A shaman lies dying and to the north the land is dying too. Hunters tell of the destruction of forests and rivers at the hand of a terrible Czar, and Shingebiss dreams the truth of what they say. Not yet a shaman, merely a witch, she implores her grandmother to save the Northlands. But the old shaman knows that everything must die, even the land. Yet what use is it to be a shaman, if a shaman will do nothing. So Shingebiss takes down her bow and arrows and goes to spell the Czar . . .
