The Hobbit

Every September I reread The Hobbit, the quintessential adventure, the ideal introduction to Tolkien's world, the quest before all other quests. As a lifelong Tolkien fan, I rediscovered the story of The Hobbit a few years ago. Of course, there were the 3 movies, which were overly complex and (in my opinion) unnecessary, considering we're talking about a 300-page book... On the contrary, I love this brilliantly "simple" little novel (originally a children's story), which has no other ambition than to follow Bilbo on his epic adventure. I can't wait for it to become a bedtime staple in our family.

Lecture difficile pour moi, je m'attendais à un livre simple pour enfant avant de le commencer, mais j'en ai bavé! Le style d'écriture est particulier (surtout en VO) tout va très vite et manque de descriptions, le suspense est rapidement dissipé. Contente de l'avoir fini en tout cas!
