It took me quite a while to get used to the unusual narration style, but once I did, I was hooked.
This is such a moving story, words can't even describe it - funny because the book revolves around the idea of the power of words, how they can lift you up and give you hope and how they sometimes let you down.
The book thief tells the tale of an incredibly unlucky young girl who meets Death -our narrator- way too often for her age but finds solace in books -words- and love. Carrier of hope for everyone lucky enough to meet her, Liesel will warm your heart, she will make you laugh with her bold personnality and, of course, shed tears.
Oh wow.
