Characters who have grown up and changed, the war, the suspense, the descriptions… GRR Martin really wrote an epic book with this one!
Yes, it is flawed – some parts may be too long, some points of view not so interesting as others, but it doesn’t really matter compared to what’s happening. I’ve found myself loving characters I used to hate, hating even more others, cursing more than once because no one is safe with GRRM and I had forgotten about it (somehow). I gasped a lot, put down my book a lot to fully comprehend what had happened, and I definitively was on the edge of my seat with that seemingly never-ending suspense.
It is so much better than the last one that I’m a bit scared for A Feast for Crows. Will it be as good? Well, we shall see as the book is already on my lap.
